After more than 3 years of thinking about starting a blog, here I am finally doing it.
The last few weeks, almost a month I have not felt especially creative. So I did a few pattern tests and made stop-motion videos. Too much stress, too much bullshit. Well, I still have tons of stress and BS, but those creative juices finally started flowing again and I have 2 & 1/2 patterns almost ready for release.
The first is a super cute kawaii style frog dish or bath scrubby.
Aren't they adorable!?! It's double-sided and lightly textured. For this one I'm using one of my least favorite yarns, but everything has it's purpose. I'm recommending Lily Sugar 'n Cream for these froggies, or a cotton similar to it like Peaches & Creme.
This pattern should be out no later than the first week of October,
The other 1 & 1/2 patterns are my Gimmie a Swirly bucket hat and beanie. Started out as just a bucket hat and I thought... Oh, it will be so easy to turn this into a beanie! And it was, for me with the very specific yarn I was using. Testing got a little tricky with variations in yarns and that sent me down a rabbit hole reading about WPI (wraps per inch), calculating yarn weight by meter/yard and how inconsistent yarn companies are with their sizing.
Anyway, foolish me for thinking it would just be a simple modification!
Both hats pictured are Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, which I really like. However, it is hard to find good substitutions for it. I have been wearing that beanie regularly since I made it; the brim is staying springy and there is no piling at all.
The hat patterns will be ready early October, still have videos to make.
