Welcome to my blog! I'm Christine, I design crochet patterns under the name WOMANWALKINGAWIRE. My specialty is creating unique Granny Square patterns, but I make other crochet creations as well!

Back in 2009 I taught myself to crochet, it quickly became an obsession and a little side hustle. I did a lot of freehand work, but it didn't occur to me for a long time that people might want to make some of my designs.

In 2021, I wrote and published my first pattern. Since then I've published 55 and am writing more all the time! 

A little bit about me... I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, now I live in the mountains about an hour from Yosemite. I'm an agnostic neurodivergent Gen-X Queer Trekkie bookworm introvert Liberal artist type with a yarn obsession. That's the abridged version.
